Our customer is a leading Analytics and Business Consultant. Since 1990, the firm has helped leading companies improve customer experience through visitor flow analysis that help shape visitor experiences.
Visitor flow analysis for places having large-scale public gatherings like stadiums, arenas amusement parks, trade fairs, expositions, etc., have become an important management tool in recent times as inputs for better facilities management and for use in emergency situations due to the increase in security threats.
Today, high-resolution cameras are easily available. Together with software for face recognition, behaviour pattern analysis and other related sophisticated tools, all connected to a powerful CPU, a large amount of data can now be processed in a fraction of time.
Our customer won a contract to conduct a Visitor Flow Analysis of Sydney’s biggest multi-venue performing arts center. The project involved counting the physical visitor traffic to the arts center as well as which sections outside the buildings visitors use, and the customer needed help with data capture.
To aid in the count, 13 cameras were installed for 40 days. These cameras recorded 40 lines/angles of interest. Therefore, a video image had to contain multiple points of interest to count.
Since keeping track of large crowds is never an easy task, the TransForm team took time to understand the dynamics of the project and analyzed the entire process in real time for one week, with multiple sub-teams working in shifts.
TransForm created custom software to capture log details per camera point, simplified the user interface, and created customizable reports per day or time period.
The collaboration between TransForm and our customer proved to be a success. The TransForm team was able to capture the data the customer needed and at the accuracy level required, all while helping the customer save over 40% in costs. The customer also credited the TransForm team for doing it right the first time despite it being a large project with an aggressive timeline.
With the successful completion of the project, our customer was able to strengthen its position as a leading consultancy in the industry.
